This is the: SAFETY Accessory's Page.
A good reason for the best safety gear & HAND RESTRAINTS !!
Need good Hand Restraints?
This also shows just how much your safety belts can stretch during a tumble, so
make sure to tighten properly and check often
The
way I use to ride. LOL
I got to admit though with long travel, its a blast! That was also my old race pilot which was a bit twisted by the time I retired it. LOL

NERF
BARS and even a SIDE NET, WOULD HAVE BEEN GOOD HERE!!
Damage was done to the Pilots above when I pulled in front of Big Tom we were doing approx. 40 mph each. I'm lucky he didn't end up inside my pilot with me if I had only been 1 sec. faster. His front bumper did all the damage to my Pilot front suspension and wheel.

Just so everyone knows, though the page has been updated. I have not gotten all the prices corrected yet to the proper ones. This is an older page that I had to up load last month when I found all the pages had been lost. PLEASE BEAR WITH ME AS I TAKE CARE OF MAKING THOSE CORRECTIONS.

ALL Certified 3" wide Racing Belts: |

||
|
All the
belts sold by OdysseySalvage, are certified for racing, which guarantees
safety and proper construction. They are the latch and link 5 points and
yes I do suggest you put the sub belt in the 250, 350 or Pilot! You
will bolt it to the cross member under the steering
wheel. I also have duel sub belts that for the guys can help
keep from pinching or hurting themselves. I especially suggest
this with kids riding it. The belts will bolt up in the same places as
the stock belts, with the exception of the sub belt.
Yes it
should only be between 5 and 15 minuet install, plus 15 for the sub belt
if one is not already there. A battery drill will work for drilling that
hole.
Yes
the newer belts are easier to adjust, now the Simpson's are the best for
that because they set the upper hardware with a extra ribbon that you
hold onto that makes it much easier to adjust the belts. Simpson also
makes the lower belts so you can pull up to adjust instead of pulling
down.
If you are using the U shaped harness you run them straight up like Honda did. If you how ever pick the single pads that are not so thick and bulky then you need to cross the belts behind your head. Now you do have to wear a neck brace when using the individual pads but not always the U shaped as long as you have a full faced helmet.
Always loosen the upper chest belts before
getting out of your ody.
When getting in always
tighten the lower belts first as tight as possible
Then tighten the uppers
After 5 to 10 minuets
of riding always pull over and re-tighten!

On a 250 the hand
restraints should always be adjusted up tight so you only have enough to
hold onto the steering wheel.
Now on the
350 or 400, some leave the right one loose enough that they can shift
gears with out removing their hand. The left side is always tight.
On all of the
hand restraints you can leave the adjustment loose around the hands.
Even with the extra padding the straps will bind if you try to pull your
had out fast, or with out holding it in place with the other hand.

Digatron Gauges NEW PAGE with new gauges Keep track of your exhaust temp. and keep from seizing your piston from high temp's.
THE DIGATRON IS THE #1 HAVE TO HAVE TOOL YOU NEED!!!! I GUARANTEE YOU IT IS THE ONLY THING THAT WILL KEEP YOU FROM BURNING PISTON AND SEIZING ENGINES!!!! IT ALONE WILL keep YOUR odyssey/pilot running!! ESPECIALLY ANY AIR COOLED ENGINE! On the 350 the EGT is better than water cooling the head &/or cyln. The water cooled head &/or cyln. is nice to have because it is a convenience BUT it will not keep you from damaging your rings or from the burring a hole in the piston THE EGT WILL KEEP YOU FROM DOING SUCH DAMAGES!
Use the DIGATRON EGT to TUNE YOUR CARB. (JETTING THE CARB) and to WARN YOU WHEN YOU EXCEED TEMPS THAT WILL CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE RINGS, PISTON &/OR CYLN.
The EGT can and will keep you from loosing compression from the rings over heating and loosing tension along with keeping you from seizing your piston due to high temp's. from the following: failing fuel systems like bad pump or clogged fuel filters or even old fuel lines that suck shut under vacuum. It will also warn you if you have miss jetted the carb or tell you when it its tine to put a larger jet in because of raising tempters outside or change of altitude while riding .
The Digatron allows you to set a LIMIT, that warns you when the temps of the cyln. reach this temps that will start doing damage. In most of them it will start FLAsHiNg to warn you! THE BEST PLACE TO MOUNT THE EGT UNIT is by mounting the unit on top of the steering wheel, when the EGT starts fLaShInG it will catch your peripheral eye vision, you can back off the throttle before you even focus in to read the temp, thus saving you valuable time to get the temps down where they need to be. I have a couple dozen engines built in the upper 50 to lower 60 hp that are ALL air cooled through out Texas and up through KS. & Neb. and all through the southern parts of the states. When any of us get a chance to ride we ride, we will ride a 12 to 16 hr day straight through with very few breaks. The EGT and the MIKUNI CARBS are what allows us to do this.
ONE MORE THING; IF I rebuild your engine, you have to have a EGT for me to warrant the rebuild. The EGT guarantees me that you can properly tune your engine, properly follow through with the correct way to break the engine in and not exceed damaging temps. what so ever. The EGT is the only accessory that can do this for you.
Just so you remember: Water cooling will not keep you from doing damage, it is more of a convenience that allows you not to change jets as often because of changing temps outside. Water cooling the head only will not even do that, with out water cooling the cyln, at the same time, the head alone does little to protect you or be any advantage, I do offer water cooling cylinders by wrapping them in alum. and channeling the water inside what we enclose if you are interested in doing that and sell a variety of water cooled heads.

I'm located in the heart of the US, on the lower south west corner of Kansas City, Kansas area, so I'm half way to everyone in the continental US.
REMEMBER: Your time is valuable too, so you do not waste time trying to contact me by phone on days or hours I'm away from the shop.
The reason I'm telling this is so everyone will understand why I'm not always here. As a rule I don't turn the answering machine on to take recordings, especially when I have 5 min. recordings or someone who calls back several times to complete a message. Plus, honestly and unfortunately, I do not do a good job returning the calls from the recorder. I DO HOW EVER return calls from caller ID, especially when I am in the shop but just away from the phone.
For those who are interested and are asking, I'm going to go into some of what is going on with the heart transplant stuff . It may take me awhile to complete it, so it will be a work in progress. Its time I learned how to blog or tweet, which ever it is now days. lol
Thank you for your patients.
