I would like to apologize for my absences during the last couple of weeks caused by my issues with Gout.

I am proud to say that my daughter, Sara, will be joining me and she will start late week. She doesn't know much about motors/parts, but has been around Odys & Pilots most her life. She is stepping up to help with the work load.

I'm asking for your patients with us, as we get everything caught up and under control and as she learns what she doesn't know. Hopefully by this weekend we will be caught up with the exception of 1 250 Ody.

BELOW, are upcoming schedules of dates &/or times, along with other misc. info that will address when, I will be AWAY from the SHOP.

April - 12th Thurs. Late am appt. (daughter reminded she was taking me). This is the Doc. that can send me for other checks up's, sometimes within hrs, which can be good or a bad thing.

April - 16 Mon. Have mid & late am appt. If I make it back, it will be after 3 PM at the earliest if at all.

April - 17 Tues. I'm packing and taking care of loose ends. I may not take many calls today because of tomorrows procedure and They want me to take 2 days off afterwards.

April - 18 Wed. Lucky Me, Had to change out my old Pace Maker. I apologize for not posting this sooner but the damn internet is down again, so here I am at KU Med. using their internet to post this.

April - 19 & 20th Thurs. & Fri. OFF because of procedure on Wed. also have an doc appt on Fri. too.

April - 30 Mon. Have PM appt, just after Lunch appt. So I hope to make it back, around 3 PM.

WHEN POSSIBLE, I WILL DO MY BEST TO KEEP THIS SCHEDULE UP TO DATE WITH ANY CHANGES OR NEW APPTS. UP TO A 1/2 MONTH AHEAD. I will also start my recordings each day with the date and day, so you know if you want to listen it or if it has not been changed.

*Every so often, a very few times over the years, but rarely, I've been admittted into the KU Med Hospital on the same day that I go for an appointment. It can be for any reason, but usually just observation after a procedure. If I'm there for only a short stay and don't have many packages going out, I may wait until I get out to take care of things. But on those few occasions that I have ended up in there for more than 2 or 3 days, I have a back up plan for on those occasions. I will at the very least make sure packages get shipped out, but they maybe as much as a 2 or 3 days late anyway.

*With my daughter Sara helping that should not be a problem. Please remember she will only be working a 3 or 4 day week depending on other circumstances.

Please keep in mind, that I only leave a greeting message on the answering machine, letting you know if I am in or out and what my schedule likes. I apologize but I do not take messages. I will, when possible, return calls from caller ID. SO ALWAYS GIVE ME A CALL BACK at your convenience if you have not heard anything back from me.. I apologize, that I do not take any recordings.

If your having problems getting in touch with me because of the line being busy all the time. Well, there is a way that you can us the star (*) key on your phone, followed by two numbers, which I'm not sure of and maybe different for each phone co. You can use that procedure to do either of these options: you can press before you dial my number that will make sure your next in line to get your call to me. When I hang up, this will ring my line and notify you that the call has gone through.

1. If your phone always blocks your phone number and name, my phone may not accept it. You can use a simular procedure as above with the star (*) and a couple other numbers to un-block your phone.

So, if you would like for me to either return your call using my caller ID or if you would prefer to be put on hold and wait for your call to ring through as my next caller you can do either of the following:1

I have so far beat death by 22 years, ;-) the last 17 of those years PLUS, have been totally unexpected! Not everyone is able to cheat death, for as much and/or for as long as I have! Especially someone who has had as many health related instances, accidents, along with other misc. misfortunes and adventures as I have had though out my lifetime. I have lost count of how many times I have had to be brought back, as I have been literally, knocking at deaths door. I could NOT HAVE GONE THROUGH OR SURVIVED ALL OF THIS OVER THE YEARS, WITH OUT THE HELP OF SO MANY! ESPECIALLY WITH OUT FAMILY, LET ALONE OF COURSE, WITH OUT GOD KEEPING AN EYE OVER ME. I will tell you that working with, the owners of Odysseys, Pilots, Drackart's and other odyssey type buggies, is a real pleasure comparatively. I could not have picked a better group of people to work it and enjoy working with everyone immensely!

I have owned three businesses over the years, 2 of which were in construction co. and were quite successful. Awhile after my HEART transplant in 1997 I had grown the two companies to just over 55 Ironworkers & 3 office personal. At that time because of health reasons, I sold the Retrofit Roofing Co. and gave the Erection Co. to my younger brother. Only with one of those companies, did I deal much with the public, but not nearly as much with that company as I do now.

I would like to thank everyone for their patients, respect and encouragement, that I have been receiving from everyone. Honestly, in nearly 40 years of working with people in one business or another, I have never been as lucky to be associated with a better group of people such as those associated with the Odysseys and Pilots and with those who have similar machines!!! I thank all of you who have let me work with you over the years and hope that relationship continues many more years! I apologize that I'm hard to reach and that I get a bit behind on one thing or another. I'd also like to thank everyone for patients with me when I'm away from the shop, here lately a few to many days out of the week and as most of you know its because of my health. I especially thank those who have let me know when I have either duplicated an order or added extra parts mistakenly and on those times when I have even forgot to charge for a ticket! Especially those who have done this with so much vigor, just as vigor as they would have used if the tables had been turned and I owed them the parts instead.

I couldn't have asked to be around better people than that! I'd like to thank those of you who treat others the way you wish to be treated yourself in everything you do. The kind of person who would loose sleep over the thought someone may have been shorted by accident or they may have accidently done anything else that, just did not feel right. Even when it comes to selling thier own Ody's or Pilots to someone else. I couldn't ask to be able to work with better people! Its really no wonder I feel that so many of you are more than customers BUT more like FRIENDS. Very few other business could ask for better people to work with.

Yeah, its true, I do have just a few misc. issues, but to me they are no more than a few irritations, more than than anything else. I really could never complain. My heart functions are doing better than anyone could ever hope for, especially after 22 years this last Xmas! Even on at my last check up in Dec. of 2011, I had an ejection fraction of 55, which would match the ejection fraction of a average 45 to 50 yr old person. I believe that 65 give or take a little is the very best ejection fraction a person can have! I have been that way for the last 3 to 5 years. So, please don't worry that I won't make it home from one of those occasional stays at KU hospital, I always make it home. No matter what I have gone in for, to me its more of just getting a chance to recharge and get my strength up, so I can get over what ever is going on and so I can keep up again with everything going on. What a transplant worries about more than anything is cancer or infections that can end things for them.

DICK BRIDGEWATER 9/6/1935 - 3/17/2009 The beginning of the end for my DAD was when he was having the battery changed on his pacemaker I'm not so worried over having this done myself, I've literally had easily over a hundred cath'sj! Though I do have to admit I do get a bit on end, around Dentist. I've lost two transplant friends who were given to much of the wrong med.

I would like to show off a few pictures of Sarge, a true friend and buddy that I have had sense he was born. Sarge stuck to me like glue everywhere I went. He would rarely venture more than 100' away from me, even while I was in the house and he stayed out to play. Sarge was quite a smart dog, I honestly believe he was smarter than most German Shepherds, like his parents and grand parents. Over the years we had 5 litters with is mother, it would had been only 4, Sarge was born in the 4th litter) because we tried to breed every other heat cycle (every 2 years) but good ol' Doc, Sarge's pop (Doc), ate through 2 layers of 3/4" plywood that separated the kennels inside and we ended up with an extra litter of pups, which is where Sarge's sister came out of that we kept, she is Heidi. Sarge's grandmother, which we also had owned and breed, was retired off the Oklahoma Police force and his grand pop was used in protection work and owned by a Salina Policeman. Even though these dogs were bread for protection, these dogs were exceptionally good with other animals and KIDS. I thought about, while Goofing around and not seriously, that I needed to toughen him up by putting him in a position where he'd have to fight. That is until I seen him take on an very aggressive dog one time. When that dog was growling at one of my kids, surprisingly to me, Sarge took care of business! I never had any doubts after that, when became necessary, I knew he'd take care of business. Doc who was Sarge's dad, while being trained for the first stages of SchH1, had bitten a arm protection piece off the trainer who was working with him! Everyone was pretty impressed! Because Doc himself was such a laid back dog who like his son Sarge, let kids and animals climb all over him, well with Doc all animals except cats. He wouldn't hurt them but he also wanted no part to do with them. LOL

Out of all those litters of Sarge's brothers and sisters, (I guess you'd call them that) we had several that were certified for working in Hospitals, with the Old Folks in the Elderly homes. On the other side of the coin, we also had a few who were trained and certified through SchH1, SchH2 and SchH3 (Schutzhund 1,2,3 that's for different stages in protection work and some in tracking). Their grandmother police dog had around 15/18 different certifications, from protection, tracking to running 13 miles with out stopping in under a certain time.

Most of all Sarge was my buddy, a good dog who never had an accident in the house, never got on furniture, he never chewed anything up and never touched anyone's dinner plate of food even when left on the floor in front of the TV! I've got pics with kittens sleeping on him, to grand kids riding him (they got in trouble) but Sarge ate all that up, Sarge loved the attention. Born Nov. 2000, died Nov. 2011. His mom lived 14yrs and pop 13 1/2 yrs. He may have ended up with a heart worm or something, I did not check because that would make me feel that much worse, if it was so. The last few years I have not been able to afford all the things we always tried to keep up with. I still have his sister Heidi, I did have her checked here lately and she was ok. Back when these guy's mom was 5 yrs old, she was found to have a heart worm. It cost us at that time nearly $800 or $900 dollars to treat her. I don't remember the exact amount, I do remember it was about 1/3 of that price just to check to see if she had the heart worm.
